I have a few issues #101

1- Is this program safe? Windows warned me.

2- When I add 2 youtube links, it crashes and it adds a non-downloaded version of the first link to the programs folder. For example, when I add these links

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuhE6PYnRMc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhB3BgJyGl8

it creates a non-downloaded version of the "Train Vs Giant Pit" video on the programs folder.

3- I dont like converting downloaded videos. And the only default download format is "Best Direct Download". And it always download at 720p quality. Why? Why can't we choose weather we want Direct 480p Download or Direct 1080p Download?

4- Even if its a direct download, it says "Converting" after a video is downloaded. Why? What is it converting?

5- Some videos gives this error sometimes ""Failed to download", Error 403: Forbidden" . If I click Download again, error repeats or goes away.

6- Can we see thumbnails on the program before we download a video?

Hi @GitAcc53, thanks for you questions.

1 - Windows automatically shows a warning for all software it doesn't know (i.e. software that is not signed). This includes a lot of popular freeware/ open source software. It does not mean that the software is harmful.

2 - I was able to download the videos successfully. Can you make sure you're using the latest version of yt-dlp (currently 2023.07.06)? You can check this via Settings -> Application. Also could you add some details whether you're converting the downloaded videos to a different format?

3 - You can customize which available format to download via the "Configure Download" dialog. You can find this via right click on a video -> Configure Download. To avoid any conversions, make sure the "Convert to" checkbox at the bottom is unchecked.

4 - Vividl might still be converting metadata and adding it to the downloaded file. You can configure this via Settings -> Download -> Add metadat to files.

5 - This is a probably a yt-dlp issue which cannot be fixed here. Still, could you provide an example for this behavior?

6 - The main UI shows video thumbnails before downloading by default (if the window size is big enough). Is there something else that should be shown?

Hope this helps!

2- I updated it and I still cant add 2 videos at the same time. I am not converting. My PC has some problems, it might be because of that.

3- Customizing takes time. I wanna download 5-10 videos a day. Its not practical to right click+customize all the time. 480 720 1080p direct download options should be easily accessible.

4-What metadata does the program converts exactly?

5- That also might be because of my PC.

6- Yeah my windows was small, sorry.

7- I also got another problem. When a youtube link is colored, the program closes. A link only works if its a pure text without color/underlined. That also might be because of my PC.

8- I use the portable version. When I add the programs folder to another folder, it doesnt work. It only works if the programs folder is on desktop.
