Phase II Clean-up #51

This requires #50 to be merged (and for ease of process, tagged) — It will be easier to see diff stat too.

Important to note, this PR bumps the extension's requirement to Bolt 3.3+ as it uses bolt/common and bolt/collection. So if I have done my job correctly, there is way less unpredictability around data.

If this is agreed upon as valid, we can tag the changes in #50 as a 3.0.10, and these changes (when we're ready) can be tagged as part of 3.1.0 :innocent:

Finally had some time to go over this.. I was concerned that removing the globals would impact the coordination between this extension and Translate. It doesn't. :-)
