Dear BookStack Team,
I would like to volunteer to implement the requested feature of adding private feedback for pages in your GitHub repository.
I believe this feature is valuable as it allows users to provide feedback privately to authors or administrators without it being visible to others, which can enhance content quality and user interaction.
I have the necessary skills to develop both the frontend and backend aspects of this feature, and I am prepared to execute this project diligently using best practices.
Please provide the necessary guidance to get started and any specific instructions for implementing this feature so that I can provide the best assistance possible.
I look forward to your response and appreciate the opportunity to contribute to this open-source project.
Thanks for the offer @samadha56, but I would not accept a PR for this into the core project at this time so please don't waste your time if that's your specific goal. Also, I get the impression you're using a LLM/AI for your messages. I'd prefer you avoid such tools, and instead (if using due for translation) use direct translation tools or provide your original language text for me to translate, so I can get a better idea of what you actually are saying/thinking instead of what a machine has added from context.
Thank you @ssddanbrown I am from Iran and I speak Farsi and Turkish and as you said, I use AI to answer, so I will try to write in English. I used the BookStack in my projects and I want to join the developer teams.
Describe the feature you'd like
It would be nice to have a option to provide feedback to a specific Page. I aware that there is the comment option, but sometimes we would like to give feedback in a private way, so that its not visible for the other users beside the author / admin
when clicking on the feedback button it should give a form to allow the user to provide the feedback
received feedback should be assigned to the page / book. user should be able to resolve feedback or reject feedback
Describe the benefits this would bring to existing BookStack users
new feature to allow more user interactions, end user facing. overall feature to improve the overall quality of the article content
Can the goal of this request already be achieved via other means?
maybe through comments... but I don't think feedback should be a comment necessarily
Have you searched for an existing open/closed issue?
How long have you been using BookStack?
3 months to 1 year
