Maybe I am missing something, but I can't find the "Disable Direct Write" option anywhere in the Boostnote preferences. I'm running on Ubuntu 16.04.
What tab and section is this option under for you?
@Flexo013
DirectWrite is a text layout and glyph rendering API by Microsoft.
DirectWrite is exclusive to the Windows operating system, I mean "Direct3D" "DirectX" "DirectWrite" and the similar acronym is well known within the Windows ecosystem and typically would have been picked up on. Regardless, this should answer your question of why it didn't show up on your end on Linux distro.
If you insist on a evidence, here: You won't find it on Ubuntu tho.
@arcturus140 I would like to have an explanation for your justification in downvoting my previous post.
@dmxt Your tone in this whole thread hasn't been very understanding or constructive, but rather demeaning:
- Build a PC
- Install Windows 10 (I'm sorry)
... the similar acronym is well known within the Windows ecosystem and typically would have been picked up on.
If you insist on a evidence...
And this is furthered by your personal attack on someone's opinion, which they in no way need to justify to you.

Back to the issue at hand. I will see if I can reproduce this on my Windows machine later this week, and we can move from there.
Confirmed this bug exists on Windows.
I can confirm that it still exists at this time.
As long as nobody wants to pick up this issue, it will most likely keep existing. (Also the latest version is still 0.13.0, so even if there was a fix, it wouldn't have been released yet.)
@dmxt You can try going through previous versions of Boostnote and try to pinpoint when this feature stopped working. That should hlep narrow down the cause of this bug.
