Cannot authorize DropBox on Boostnote Android #70

It seems like the "Send!" button doesn't "enable" when I paste in a token. Regardless, it allows me to click the button and displays this message. Have tried this process twice now (meaning trying two different authentication tokens)

Thank you for your trying! @derekantrican

What do you think is the cause? @kohei-takata

kohei-takata commented 6 years ago

@derekantrican It sounds like you pasted not all of the key. Number of people have linked to Dropbox these days. So the button works correctly, I think. I know the site of Dropbox is not kind :( So please try to copy all of key and paste it.

derekantrican commented 6 years ago

@kohei-takata While that sounds like a nice, easy solution - this is not the case. I am definitely copying all of the key. I just opened up the app to try it again and it looks like the whole "Tap here to sign into Dropbox!" button and other controls are missing (see below). There is a "How to connect?" button, but that points here: https://medium.com/boostnote/boostnote-mobile-how-to-synchronize-with-dropbox-95d845581eea and, as noted by the screenshot below, I don't have the buttons in that article.

Oh, it looks like somehow the access token "fixed itself"! (Even after I got the "Cannot Authorize" messages)

@kohei-takata so maybe there is a problem where the app thinks it's not a valid token, but tries again later and it works? Also, instead of (or in addition to) the "Connect with Desktop app and create a note!" message, a "Successfully connected to Dropbox!" (or similar) message would help clear up confusion

@derekantrican Thanks. OK, I check codes of Dropbox linking again.

a "Successfully connected to Dropbox!" (or similar) message would help clear up confusion

I will change the message more clearly :)
