Pdf4Eclipse triggers discrete graphics on Macbook Pro Retina #31

This makes it hard to work on battery power. Is there a fundamental reason why the display of PDFs requires the discrete graphics card?

Could this be an issue upstream of Pdf4Eclipse in the Java PDF rendering libraries used?
