ctypes-opencv will not install from pip

i am working under the assumption that this package would not appear on pypy if 
you did not intend for it to be installable from pip and/or easy-install.

ctypes-opencv is listed on pypy:
$ pip search opencv
remotecv                  - remotecv is an OpenCV server for facial and feature 
recognition
ctypes-opencv             - ctypes-opencv - A Python wrapper for OpenCV using 
ctypes
pyopencv                  - PyOpenCV - A Python wrapper for OpenCV 2.x using 
Boost.Python and NumPy
opencv-cython             - An alternative OpenCV wrapper
CVtypes                   - Python OpenCV wrapper using ctypes
Tippy                     - another Toolbox for Image Processing in PYthon, 
based on OpenCV

but it will not install:
$ pip install ctypes-opencv
Downloading/unpacking ctypes-opencv
  Could not find any downloads that satisfy the requirement ctypes-opencv
No distributions at all found for ctypes-opencv
Storing complete log in 
/var/folders/Ie/IeYJsiD-FTG81xSOwDYjJ++++TI/-Tmp-/tmp0wDQ_z (attached)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
pip 1.2.1, python 2.7, OSX 10.6

I've just figured out that I must be using the unpopular version of python.
