Recital/Competition Applications Enhancement #29

Improvements to the application forms received after last year:

  1. Can the "Length of time studied..." (both fields) be set to accept only numeric response, perhaps with decimal point (3.5)? Can this check with the recital requirements and give an error if the wrong length of time? This relieves the recital chair from arguing with teachers about exceptions.
  2. Minutes and Seconds fields accept only numeric values (whole numbers OK) and check with recital requirements and give error if not correct. Same reason as #1.

Is there something we can do when a teacher signs a student up in error, or for the wrong recital? Contact you?

I thought I had emailed you about this, or did I call? I can certainly add a numeric check for those fields. But adding the logic to verify different times based on which recital/comp they are signing up for is not trivial. Also, the adult recital has 2 pieces that can't exceed 10 minutes total. This could be a 4-6 hour job. Is it worth it to you folks? The numeric check would only be 1-2 hours.
