Using Raspberry Pi OS, download and boot RPI Lite image from Pi Power Tools. When clicking the Boot button, the Boot console showed up.

The Boot console output ``` Current config: VDESKTOP_BOOT_MODE: gui VDESKTOP_UMOUNT_ON_EXIT: yes VDESKTOP_USERNAME: pi VDESKTOP_PASSWORD: raspberry VDESKTOP_AUTO_LOGIN: yes VDESKTOP_MOUNTPOINT: /media/pi/vdesktop VDESKTOP_ENABLE_ROOTMOUNT: yes VDESKTOP_ENABLE_VIRGL: no VDESKTOP_LOCAL_BINARIES: yes VDESKTOP_NSPAWN_FLAGS: Message from Botspot: Comments >/dev/null. After that a black Vdesktop window appears.

But this last for a few hours, still in black...

Well I am new to Vdesktop and also Pi Power Tool, sorry if this is a stupid issue.

cycool29 commented 2 years ago

Just tested with USB mode, same result.

RPiOS Lite does not have a desktop. It doesn't include xorg packages, because, well, it's the Lite variant of the OS. Therefore, nothing will appear in the window. You can prevent the black window from appearing by adding the cli flag to the vdesktop command you're using. (Or if you're using PPT, I believe there's a setting to boot to "Console - autologin".

If you want to interact with a desktop session then download Raspberry Pi OS. (not lite)

Wow I don't even know Lite don't have a GUI. I will try again with standard RPi OS.
