Getting old build to work on kodi 18.4 #7

Hello,

I wasn't sure if I should reopen a closed ticket just to add a comment so I opened a new one but please feel free to delete it if not appropriate.

I thought kodi headless docker was working but it didn't with kodi 19 and i couldn't find any dockers running on arm processor. There is a post regarding this for anyone interested https://github.com/linuxserver/docker-kodi-headless/issues/127

I decided to go back to kodi 18.4 in my case because of a few addons not working on kodi 19 in addition to kodi headless and watchdog addon running on arm based nas device.

What worked for me was below:

  1. Using old version of liveleak addon (i had a copy of addon data folder backup), tried to zip and install from zip which worked also
  2. Download and install beautifulsoup4 script addon https://mirrors.kodi.tv/addons/leia/script.module.beautifulsoup4/script.module.beautifulsoup4-4.6.2.zip as per below thread https://github.com/Sandmann79/xbmc/issues/352
  3. Disable liveleak autoupdate and beautifulsoup4 autoupdate

Not sure how long will it work but I hope it will until all addons will be update and kodi headless arm docker available.

It's not a problem opening a new issue. In fact, it's probably better since a comment might not get as much exposure.

I am curious which version of the Liveleak plugin you used. Version 1.4.3 is compatible with Kodi 16-18. Version 2.0.0 is compatible with, at present, only Kodi 19. If there is something in 1.4.3 that I could tweak to match the version you had on backup, perhaps it would work for others and would be readily available in the jarvis branch.

Thank you for positive comments. I think it was version 1.4.2 but please find attached zip file that i compressed my liveleak addon folder (it may have been updated with the code that you used in 1.4.3). Maybe upload any version to jarvis you would like me to try. I think it was beautifulsoup4 script module update that caused the problems as that is the error i was getting in kodi log and when looking for error found a post with beautifulsoup4 zip file which resolved the error. plugin.video.liveleak.zip

Hello I have Android TV, OS 8.0, using Kodi 19.0 and Liveleak plugin 2.0.0.

When selecting any of the catagories example "Featured" I always get error message Liveleak error, please see logs for details"

I can not access the logfiles from my TV.

Anyone know what can cause this?

Mikael

Hello Mikael,

I think getting the log would be best but if you can't, try the following:

  1. Download zip file from matrix branch https://github.com/Botster/plugin.video.liveleak/archive/refs/heads/matrix.zip to be accessible from within kodi on tv.
  2. Launch kodi and uninstall liveleak addon
  3. Install from zip file downloaded at step1
  4. Try access liveleak addon and play some video, note that it takes around 20 seconds to load first page and the same amount of time after every video to refresh the page. I noticed that one way to prevent reload time is to go back before video finishes playback, haven't tried pausing and using back button as I reverted back to kodi 18.4.

If it doesn't work you would need to get the logs to get more information as to why it is giving error.

See closed issue for further details if matrix branch code works. https://github.com/Botster/plugin.video.liveleak/issues/6

I installed kodi in my mobilephone instead, I found this phone have same issue as on my Android TV and was after a while getting some logs, see 2 screenshots, I hope these are enough.

Its Saturday evening, I do not expect a quick fix, so relax and have a nice weekend, take your time!

Mikael

Mikael,

I am not a developer, I am just a user that reported problems here. As you replied to email attachments/screenshots are not visible. You are better off replying on github via web browser and use preview to see your comment before posting it. Attaching full log as an attachment is better than screenshots. I assume you are having the same problem as I did in issue 6 https://github.com/Botster/plugin.video.liveleak/issues/6 , see the the last posts. Developer raised the issue with kodi. Try installing https://github.com/Botster/plugin.video.liveleak/archive/refs/heads/matrix.zip and see if it works.
