Is there any difference between free version (self hosted) and paid version?

Yes, there is, the paid version is more updated, has other features such as comments on the client, calendar, and many more things. Paid support obviously also comes with hosting and prioritized support. Let me know if you have anything specific in mind, you want to know about.
