wattmanGTK console output.txt pakku -Qq.txt c05342156.pdf

Hello, I am having issues opening the application. As seen above, I have included the error messages from the console, a list of all of my installed packages and my laptop's specifications sheet (HP took the specs website down). I hope this will be of use in diagnosing our current predicament.

Goes to bed as it's already waaaaay too late, but shall return tomorrow!

EDIT: To note, I have all of the testing repositories enabled.

I have the same issue on Arch/Gnome. It seems to be an issue cause by the use of wayland/xwayland. The UI will launch properly in an X session like openbox.

Well, in that case, QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb might make it work.

EDIT: Unlike with VirtualBox, this has not helped.

elsandosgrande commented 5 years ago

Oh, also, this issue sounds related.

EDIT: Before anyone here starts getting angry, my Xorg session is broken, so I've only got Wayland. Oh, and I'm using the Breeze Snow cursor theme. I will try using the Breeze cursor theme just to see if it helps.

EDIT 2: Yeah, neither Breeze nor Numix helped.

Strange, the application works fine for me under wayland. Are you sure you have the backend installed for matplotlib? Did you use the pip version or the one from the distro?

ghost commented 5 years ago

I have the same issue on Arch Linux in Plasma Wayland.

elsandosgrande commented 5 years ago

@BoukeHaarsma23 I have matplotlib installed and WattmanGTK is from the AUR (if that's what you were asking).

EDIT: Wait, what's pip?

As I am switching over to Gentoo as we speak (kernel compilation stage of the install process), I am afraid that I can no longer provide any real help in resolving this issue, but I will check whether or not the issue persists on Gentoo (I will be using KDE on Gentoo as well).

elsandosgrande commented 5 years ago

So, as I've just stated in #39, I'm having the same issue with Gentoo as well. This is either a Wayland thing or possibly a KDE thing, as I have both matplotlib and pycairo installed, as stated previously. I shall now add Gentoo to the title.

EDIT: I switched from Antergos to Gentoo, so I am no longer able to provide help with Antergos troubleshooting.
