Creature sizes mislabeled #26

Open scherazade opened 4 years ago

scherazade commented 4 years ago

Describe the bug These observations are based on the world most famous tabletop game that possesses both Dungeons and Dragons. The following creatures are labeled Large but place as Medium:

Animals Bear, Cave Bat, Giant Centipede, Giant Snake, Giant

Elementals All

Monsterous (misspelled, no "e") Dragon, Young (although young dragons are medium size) Manticore, Ferocious Minotaur, Raging Troll, Fearsome

Having a way to resize these as the DM would be ultra helpful for when we need something to be bigger or smaller.

I wouldn't really call it "mislabeled" - TaleSpire is not meant as a tool solely for DnD, so sizes aren't necessarily related to that system. In that case I'd more say "wow that's a Giant Bat" because the Bat model has a wingspan of more than a human is tall, ignoring that it places within a 1x1 square the same size as a human and any implications that would have in any gaming system.

What is odd indeed is that the searchable tags seem to be somewhat arbitrary - why is a giant bat tagged as large, but a giant spider as medium, even if their models are roughly the same size? Also, since those are the search terms for the ingame asset search, they should probably just reflect the names.
