Casio PX-3 doesn't work

Looks like Casio PX-3 doesn't work with this driver.

Just to let you know I have a Privia PX-120.  It will not function properly.  I 
cannot play more than one note at a time, It will only play the know after a 
key is depressed,  and it sustains notes as well.  I've installed the driver, 
rebooted etc.   I have Mountain Lion 10.8.4.  Any Help would be appreciated.

Thanks for getting back to me.  I've been using Garageband and Mainstage 
3.  The keyboard does exactly the same thing in both programs.  I can 
only play single notes. No polyphony, and as I mentioned, the notes 
sound after the key on the px-120 is depressed.  In the Audio Midi 
settings, it shows up when I plug it in as "ViewCons" with a generic 
listing.  I never get the casio driver to show up.  I have tried an 
Axiom 61, before this, and it worked fine, in GB.  The Mainstage I just 
downloaded and no joy now on either, unless I like sustained, single 
notes. That's all it seems to do with both programs.  My machine is an 
I5 2.6ghz Macbook pro 17".  Thanks for you help.  Bueno.

Viewcon is a MIDI - USB adapter manufacturer. Do you also use that kind of 
adapter with another piece of equipment, or did in the past ? It looks like the 
Viewcon picks up the Casio as one of its own devices. Maybe Casio actually use 
one of their devices internally. 

I would try removing the Viewcon driver, to see if the my driver correctly 
picks up your keyboard. Look into Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers, both in your home 
folder and root, and look for anything not called "Casio". It should definitely 
show up as a Casio in MIDI settings.

Again, thanks for getting back to me. When I used the Alesis it was used 
with a usb cable straight from the keyboard to the laptop.  The Privia 
Px-120 doesn't have a usb port, hence the viewcon usb/midi.  I tried 
what you suggested, I made sure that I have no instance of any other  
driver in Library.  I was only able to check root, since I'm admin on my 
mac, I believe the root is my library, if not, I can't seem to get to 
it, but I can get to others users libraries, and there are no instances 
in there.  Just to let you know in Audio Midi, I have a "Network" and an 
"IAC" driver listed in there as well.  When I shut off the keyboard and 
unplug, I remove the viewcon driver from Audio/Midi.  When I plug it 
back in, it comes right back up as veiwcon.  Nothing Casio appears.

I forgot that the PX-120 didn't have a USB port, so my instructions were 
actually wrong. However, I now have a better idea of what's going on.

My driver only works for Casio keyboards with USB ports, so it is not meant for 
the PX-120. However, it is possible that the driver gets in conflict with the 
Viewcon's driver. So, my suggestion would be to do the exact opposite of what I 
told you last week (sorry about that): Delete any instance of my driver from 
your system, and reinstall the most recent Viewcon one.

You can also look in /Users/[username]/Library/... for MIDI drivers. However, 
if you didn't install any over there manually, there should't be any. This 
personal folder is useful for people without root access to the system they 
use, but need to be able to install MIDI drivers without affecting other users.

Once again, sorry about my mistake last week. If you still experience problems 
with your keyboard, I'm afraid I cannot assist you further, as I do not own a 
Viewcon device myself.

Thanks for you help.  I ended up loading drivers for an M-Audio Uno 
usb/midi and that seemed to do the trick.  I guess just an fyi incase 
someone asks you in the future for a Casio that does not have a usb 
port.  Everything works now, as long as I don't use the Veiwcon.   I 
appreciate your time.
