the wu-1a code was only tested with d7100 and d600.
Can you donwnload wire shark (
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=lv.n3o.shark ) and record the
traffic between the nikon application and the wu-1a and send me (as for taking
images and entering live view)? (the application needs root).

Hi, so I've made record of USB communication between D3200 Camera and
DigicamControl.
I also exported device info from the last version
DslrDashboard_V0.30.20_3200.apk and recorded at the same time logcat file.
Everything is packed under the following link. (*.ulz file has 13MB... I guess
I recorded a bit more than needed :P hopefully it will be somehow helpful, let
me know)

One more thing, the DslrDashboard_V0.30.20_3200.apk with D3200 was able to
change some settings and take pictures as well, without freezing the app, but
the live view wasn't available at all, no button and "after the start" setting
did not work as well.

Thanks for the logs.
Can you try the attached apk when you have time.
I only need the device_info.txt and to see if there will be a LV button present
with this version.

The LV button appears.
First run of the app; it was able to change the camera to the LV mode (can say
because of the sound camera made) but the app didn't show anything on the
screen of the phone. I have tried to change mode few times and then it crashed.
Second run; the button was still there, but pushing it did nothing.
Attaching device info, if it can help.

In what LV mode was you trying it?
Can you try it in both modes (OpenCv/OpenGl and the old mode in settings).

When you run the app, the live view doesn't work, not in old mode not in
OpenCv/OpenGl one. Even if :Live view at startup: settings is ON.
However, if you take shot without live view and then you try to turn it ON
again, it works in OpenCv/OpenGl mode.
But as soon as you try to take another picture with working live view, app
crashes.

Btw, can this testing damage my camera somehow? Cause I am doing a lot of

Original comment by Husqar...@gmail.com

Should not, I'm pulling out/in the cable into D5000 for over a year and still
working as it worked before a year.

You get a LV image on your phone/tablet?
After LV is turned on, can you turn it off from app?

I did get LV image (OpenCv/OpenGl mode) on my phone and I can turn (after first
shot) LV OFF and ON.
But as soon as the another shot is made with LV ON, app crashes.
Same applies to the last version you posted. Logcat attached.

So it still doesn't work before first shot is taken. After first, you can run
LV.
And the freezing problem after taking pic in LV is gone. It works, after taking
picture you can take another and another...
However the app is still pretty unstable, when you start to poke in the other
setting. It crashed twice after going to the focus points option.
Original comment by Husqar...@gmail.com

Check if this solves the 'no LV before first shoot is taken'.
Focus points will not work as there is no such property on D3200.

I tried version 3, still seeing no LV before taking a picture. LV returns after
Bracketing and time lapse. I have had a couple force closures usually after
quiting and restarting. But love what you have.

Can you explain in more detail the problem?
Do you just unplug your camera or use the 'close usb device' button?
Don't see why would you need to install the application every time.

That doesn't make sense to me either. What phone/rom/version? I don't have
that issue on my galaxy nexus or my galaxy note, ics or jelly bean.

The question was pointed to user dwhite2173.
Btw before unplugging the USB camera from you Android device please use the
'close usb camera' so that the USB connection is properly closed.

im using the wu-1a, hard to connected sometimes but when i re-install the
program it seems to connect better. i think the problem started after i updated
the firmware in the camera (maybe)
...also, even though i format my sd card, take a picture, go to review it, all
i see is is the deleted pic which has the same name (.raw file). eg. deleted
file 0039, new file 0039 all i see is the old deleted 0039. but i can view the
new file 0039 on the camera but not using dslrdashboard program. it worked in
the beginning but not now, strange.
non the less GREAT PROGRAM...where can i donate?

Do you have the nikon capture app installed as well? If it is, and running in
the background it can cause issues with this app if you run it after. Try to
remove the nikon app for the wu-1a and try dslrdash again.

Before you enter live view on D3200 can you try and enable 'host mode' in top
row (camera mode/host mode button).
Does it enter live view if 'host mode' is enabled or you still need to take
first a picture?

I deleted the previous attachments as I can't attach files anymore because the
quota limitations.
I uploaded a new D3200 apk in download section. Please download it and try that
one, it should now have the 'camera mode' / 'host mode' button.
Before entering live view please enable 'host mode'
