Kindle OpenCV does not install #29

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
DslrDashboard_V0.30.20.apk

After installation the following dialog appears "OpenCV Manager package was not
found! Try to install it?"

No installation ever seems to occur. The DSLR Dashboard does appear but I am
not able to connect to me D600.

I believe this is because the app is being searched for in the Amazon store and
it does not appear there.

Where can I get this package?

On what Kindle version are you trying to install it? I can upload the OpenCV
install.

This is the Kindle Fire HD. Since my post I have determined by reading that the
USB port will not operate as needed on this device. It is possible I can use
the Nikon WiFi device instead. I could not tell what the install was doing as
the screen was black while supposedly obtaining the OpenCV packagein but then
found it was going to Google Play which the Kindle will not allow without
modification. I was able to find the OpenCV install on the open source site and
get that installed. So conceivably if I were to buy the Nikon WU1B this could
work on my Kindle.

Thanks ~Michael

A user with D600 tested the WU-1b with DslrDashboard and confirmed it is
working.

I can shed some light maybe (Kindle Fire HD 7, Nikon D600, WU-1b):

I installed the app and when starting it, the OpenCV app was requested to be
installed but not found in the Amazon Marketplace App shop, of course. So I
went ahead, downloaded the OpenCV package for Android
http://opencv.org/downloads.html and unzipped the archive. The file
apk/OpenCV_2.4.5_Manager_2.7_armv7a-neon.apk I copied over to the Kindle
manually and installed it there as well.
From then on DSLRDashboard did work with the WLAN based connection to the WU-1b.
Once at program start it terminated right away and the running-in-background I
am not sure is correct but aside of that, all fine!

Hi Werner,

can you please explain the workflow in more detail. Where did you copy the file
to and how did you install it?

Thanks

Frank
