since it is unclear what the tester is arguing for. There are several angles to interpret this bug:
FeatureFlaw
if the tester is arguing that email addresses should not be stored under social mediaDocumentationBug
if the tester is arguing that the example in the docs are not-contextualized and may confuse people. The dev-team would like to point out that this should not be a FeatureFlaw
since a person can have multiple email addresses with different email providers (@gmail.com
, @example.com
), but 1 main email they would like to use.
Furthermore, other social media platforms can also use a user's email as their username.
We also would like to point out that the email addresses highlighted in the screenshot are different as well:
alexyeoh@example.com
vsalexyeoh@gmail.com
which serves to further our point on using Social Media
to contain details for other platforms.

The example given in the application/ UG was having an email address under social media and the main email address under contact. It is confusing for the user as it is giving mixed signals on the purpose of storing email addresses and what is the difference between storing email address under social media or under contact.
