After opening the project (in the 'source' map) you'll have to (only once):

• Package -> Open Package File (.lpk) -> Source\3rdParty\ExpandPanels\expandpanels-master-2\pexpandpanels.lpk -> Compile
• Package -> Open Package File (.lpk) -> Source\3rdParty\uniqueinstance-1.0\uniqueinstance_package.lpk -> Compile
• Package -> Open Package File (.lpk) -> Source\3rdParty\Synapse\source\lib\laz_synapse.lpk -> Compile

Maybe these packages should go under lazarus itself to avoid above, but that is really not my preference...

You should only open a pull request to development, not to master branche.

P.S. it looks like a good idea to cleanup a bit. Also adding compiled binaries to the .gitignore is a great idea. But please create a clean pull request to development.
