Essentially, it's to be a RESTful interface for providing beer ingredient data necessary for recipe creation. For fermentables, this means potential sugars, proteins, etc. found in the grain. I do need to make a good ReadMe still, and I apologize for that
to make a low cost brewing ingredient api for the every day brewgrammer. It would be used in applications and recipe builders, and the data would be both mined from external sources and crowd sourced. I was displeased with the options available when I went to make a beer recipe builder app, so I decided this was a better way to spend my time. (BreweryDB is not very good for beer ingredients, and they don't have an automated method of crowd sourcing data. I want to make an API full of quality data for you and I). It would be a lot easier with some help though. I do plan on making users pay for subscriptions to get all the data. HOWEVER, I do NOT want to profit from this. I will be offering subscriptions at whatever cost allows me to break even with server costs. I am hoping that this will be <$1. If this project gets popular, I plan to create an account with https://opencollective.com/ for full transparency with the public on where those funds are allocated. As a Brewgrammer (ya, I'm using that word now), I find the technology available to brewers lacking. Much of it is dated, and clunky. And I think this is one area in particular that could really help others to make some more modern applications for us.
Do you have a more in depth explanation of what this project is? Your README doesn't seem to contain much info.
