[Armin - 9/11/2016 11:52:32 a.m.] Displacement sensor has been located. Type is Sick, Optex OD250-150P840. Specs are 250 mm +- 150 mm. Resolution is 150 um (argh).

The robot does not have sufficient movement (in y-direction) to reach both ends of the green frame. It would however work if the daily calibration frame was used for the purpose. A possible location for the displacement sensor (blue box, orange cable) to achieve this is shown in the pic below. Grant will need to think about how to connect sensor to NI system. Marcel is ready for wiring when we are. Richard believes that once the sensor talks to NI system it will be achievable to monitor four points on the frame and write info into H5 file.

Maybe we need to find/order a displacement sensor with better resolution?
