Now that the scanning frame has been aligned relatively accurately (Feb17), the standoff distance between the NIR lightbox and the scanning frame can also be assessed in a meaningful way. A measurement with gauge blocks between the bottom of the light box and the scanning frame next to white reference (09 Feb 17, see pics below) showed a standoff distance of 7.05 mm on the door side of the box and 6.00 mm on the back-wall side. Due to the way the light box is suspended it can easily beshimmed to achieve evenness at any desired standoff distance.

No assessment was done in x-direction as scan line is only ~ 1 mm in that direction.

[Armin - 21/02/2017 12:55:02 p.m.] Light box mounts havebeen shimmed (where they meet the top frame, see image), to adjust distance to 5 mm evenly across width of light box. Correct stand-off distance needs to be confirmed once x-movement of table is fixed.
