The newly installed laser distance sensor can be used to measure position of the sample surface. This inormation will be helpful in determining how much the distance between sample surface and other sensors (esp NIR illuminator) might vary. It might also be useful in determining/verifyingsample extent and interpreting/controlling USV ram position data.

This mapping might be done by:

Add the ability to map the sample surface in whatever fashion is most convenient so these ideas can be tested.

[Richard - 1/02/2017 21:32:47] I managed to get the laser to "step" around the disc contour ... but it was right on the edge, so often just inside or just outside. Is there a way to create an "inner" contour, so that I can move "X" amount inside the disc edge?
