I doubt you will get this to work. It also depends on some old modules from Fajo, but he has also disappeared (http://www.fajo.de/main/thecus/modules)

I have 5 thecus nasses here, and finally tracked down a SSH module online that I could install, so I could SSH into the box, and configure it that way. but it's an old Linux OS, and i ran into al kinds of problems (and my linux knowledge is not that great). So I finaly gave up and now just put my media files on my nasses, but run the different apps (sonarr, radarr, lidarr, prowlarr, plex, bazarr) on a VM that manages the nas. (tried to do it in docker, but since I'm running Windows, there were some problems getting the NAS shares to work decently in the containers).

If you are on Linux, I suggest you try management of your mediafiles through docker, or if you are on Windows, spin up a VM in hyper-v, virtual box, or any other, and run the apps in there.

If you want, you can try to find some modules from Thecus that are still available for now on http://ftp2.thecus.com/~thecus/download/ or download the latest Plex module from the Plex website for Thecus. (https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/#plex-media-server and then choose Thecus). I tried it and it works on my N8800Prov2 (didn't try on N7700Pro, N4200ECO or N5200, but I suspect it will only work on the x64 cpu models, The NAS CPU from the N8800Prov2 cannot transcode if you need Plex to transcode files for streaming. If your files do not need transcoding, than it works great.

I choose to go the VM route because I want more control over my media files and metadata than Plex can provide, and run only that behind an VPN, but it's an individual choice.

Good Luck.
