Request: Upgrading to PHP 8 #54

At Q2 2021 meetup we had a request for a talk on upgrading to PHP 8. A quick poll at the meetup suggested that most people are not yet on PHP 8 for a variety of reasons (3rd party dependency support, breaking changes, etc).

A simple talk on the process for upgrading and rolling out PHP 8 would be well received.

This would be good. I was going to attempt this in the coming weeks. I'll update here if I do and might do a talk on it

Hey @wildcard27, we've scheduled the next meetup for August 31. Have you completed your PHP 8 upgrade yet? I'd love to hear to talk about it!

Hey Nathan. Unfortunately not. If you are still looking for speakers in the next couple of weeks I'm sure I can find something to run though

No problem mate. It would be great if we could get you to do talk again. We have a bunch of talk requests in the issues that we collected from attendees at the last meetup if you need any inspiration :wink:
