Thanks for the suggestion. Your reason sounds valid.
I do have a feature item in my backlog to add "Move card to top or move card to bottom" menu items in the right-click menu of the card. Since I want to keep the UI as simple as possible and not clutter it too much, I can add a simple drop down next to 'Card List dropdown' where you can select "Move card to top" or "Move card to bottom". This also aligns with the other feature in my backlog where a user would be able to move a card to top or bottom from the card's context/right-click menu.
It sounds like that approach is worth trying and seeing how it feels to use in practice.
Sometimes minimalism and simplicity are at odds -- where minimalism removes important knobs and makes completing common tasks less simple -- but the proof of the pudding is in the eating...
Thanks again Ash
When using the card details view to move a card across the board (
Card List
), the card is always placed at the top of the list. Most of the time this is probably the most useful behaviour, but sometimes you prefer it to go to the bottom. For example:
In either case, having the card go to the top of the list is annoying and having to jump out of card details, find the list that it's in and manually drag it somewhere near the bottom compounds the annoyance.
Zenhub uses little up and down icons near the list dropdown to allow users to quickly push a card to the top or bottom of the list. Most of the time this is good enough and if you need to fine tune the priority of a card you can still drag and drop it from the board view. A similar feature might be a nice UX improvement for Brisqi?
