Problems with images upload in bm-workspace #3

Dear @jcupitt, I am a Ph.D. student of History of Art, studying the underdrawing by working on infrared reflectography images. It is the first time I face images post-processing alone, so I studied the "Charisma multispectral imaging manual". As suggested in the manual, I downloaded nip2 - 8.7.0. (the latest version for Windows 10) and the related bm-workspace (the version you uploaded in 2017, I didn't find one more recent), but apparently the workspace doesn't work, because it doesn't allow me to upload images. When I open the bm-workspace the following sentence appears (as you can see in the image below): "Compatibility mode. This workspace was created by version 8.4. A set of compatibility menus have been loaded for this window". I think it is a problem related to the version of the bm-workspace, but I haven't been able to find the latest version. Could you please help me to fix this problem? Thank you very much in advance. Screenshot (6)rit

Hello @Nikydem, it should work. Let me try here.

jcupitt commented 5 years ago

Yes, it works for me on linux.

How did you try to load the images? I would:

  1. Start nip2
  2. Load bm-workspaces.ws
  3. Right-click on A2.targets.image (the top leftmost thumbnail)
  4. Select "Replace From File ..."
  5. In the file dialog, pick an RGB image with a Macbeth chart in
  6. Click Open and it should load

The workspace will slowly recalculate. You can load up other image types as well, for example E2.targets.image for an IR reflectogram.

I have a win10 machine at home, I can check on that tonight.

Dear @jcupitt, thank you very much for your reply. If it works on your computer, probably I'm doing something wrong, but cannot really understand what, because I follow the same procedure you suggest here, but it doesn't work.

When I place the arrow on A2 or E2 bar, a yellow pop up appears saying (for instance for E2): "Name: E2. Error: error in row. Error in row: E2.targets.image.super.value: Not found. File: "My file path" not found on path. Formula: Pair..."

Good evening gentlemen,

I've been dealing with a similar problem as of recently. I've managed to get one of the many versions running, without the red error symbols, but approximately halfway through the charisma guide it just stops working the way it should - e.g. can't get the results for UVR or IRR etc. .. So i stumbled upon this thread and have been wondering if there has been any development on this matter.

Thank you in advance for response.
