IIP search isn't working. It always returns all files #124

If you try to search for any facet or value in IIP, you will get 4600 or so results every time. The search doesn't seem to be working. Is this a result of the security changes?

I had intermittent results with the search. In some cases, Language, Religion and Material don't work. when I try again, they do work. It may have to do with Resetting in between searches or just turning facets on and off. May be worth playing with it systematically for a bit.

I haven't been able to reproduce this issue ("Latin" and "Christian" gives me four results), but I'll spend some time next week trying to break search.

It looks like if you click the search button while the filter checkboxes are greyed out, the checkboxes are ignored (the date search option still works, though).

I should be able to just temporarily disable the search button while the page is updating. It's not an ideal solution, but it will keep search from breaking.

The search button not working while the map is loading and the facet boxes are greyed - that is another issue, and has to do with optimizing the search page. The problem I was noting in this issue is another one and it is intermittent. I was able to select items, but the search brought up all the inscriptions. I think it may have to do with doing multiple searches and turning facets on and off, rather than doing a reset. But again, it's intermittent, and if things seem to be working, probably best to leave it for now, unless you can make it. happen again. It's very frustrating.

Disabling the search button until things have loaded isn't a bad idea. Let's wait until tomorrow's meeting, if Luke is able to make it and learn more about the new design and timeline.
