All video playback fails with NS_ERROR_DOM_MEDIA_FATAL_ERR #11

Describe the bug Video playback (youtube.com, gfycat.com, v.reddit.com) fails with NS_ERROR_DOM_MEDIA_FATAL_ERR in developer console.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to 'gfycat.com' and open Waterfox developer console
  2. Click on any video

Desktop (please complete the following information):

Additional context Confirmed issue still occurs in a new profile set to "safe mode" (add-ons disabled).

This is still occurring with 2021.11

I have the same problem but on OSX 10.7.5 (Lion) and in the current version of Waterfox Classic 2022.01 (64-bit):

When one opens a local mp4 file (file:///Users/fooooo/example.mp4) it says interestingly "Video can't be played because the file is corrupt." My old version of Waterfox (56.2) plays it fine ;)

The Browser console shows the same Error: ...mp4 could not be decoded, error: Error Code: NS_ERROR_DOM_MEDIA_FATAL_ERR (0x806e0005)
