With sidebar tabs enabled, large parts of the waterfox window become unclickable. #3426

What happened?

When I enable the sidebar tabs, I notice that only a small section of the window remains clickable. I cannot click anything in the toolbar or a large section of the displayed web site. Sometimes resizing the window appears to fix it, but not always. In order to disable the tab sidebar, I need to open a new tab and select the "Show Tab Sidebar" button using the keyboard, because it does not respond to clicks.

Another thing I notice is that when I enable sidebar tabs, KWin seems to lose track of Waterfox's association with the .desktop file, because it has a generic Wayland icon. Maybe it's related to Wayland/KWin? It may also have something to do with maximizing or tiling the window, because problems seem especially likely after doing either of those things.

Reproducible?

Same! It happens to me on EndeavourOS, Plasma on Xorg, NVIDIA Drivers, Linux Zen kernel with aur/waterfox-bin G6.0.16-1 package! When this bug occurs, some portions of the window can be clicked through, and you will click on the desktop instead.

The only workaround I found is to enable the titlebar. Changing between native and custom titlebar will also trigger this issue and a restart is needed.

Seems that the issue is caused by KDE Plasma's compositor, whenever it's Wayland or X11. Maybe it's caused by a desktop effect. I will send another comment to see if I can find which effect causes that.

Having the same issue on Fedora 40 + Plasma 6.1.3, running Waterfox G6.0.17. It doesn't appear to be an issue until I have more than three Waterfox windows open. Also, the one that is doing it (the 4th window) will sometimes lose focus when I do try to click on something, and the click will sort of "go through" the window. Like, I'll try to close the tab sidebar, but I'll end up clicking on a link in the other window below it, which will suddenly pop into focus.

Switching back to Tree Style Tab instead, which is not exhibiting this behaviour, and was what I was using on Firefox before anyway.

I used to have this on every single window. Now clicks on every window that's not the first one "go through", though the first window works.
