Troubleshooting information please. Text (not raw data) copied from:
Oh, of course – sorry, here you go:
Unfortunately the "Copy Text" button only filled in a very little part of the data. In case you prefer those:
Jonah Bishop (the author of Googlebar Light) unfortunately has abandoned the project when Quantum was enforced, so he's unlikely to do something on it. To clarify my initial report: most of the menus are working, except for the "search preferences". A search from the bar is impossible: one can fill in the search terms, but no longer execute the search – neither by pressing Enter, not by clicking the search button.
Thanks,

Please disable multi-process Waterfox.
Thanks, that indeed did it! But as I did not manually change that value, how comes it worked in v56.1? And does this mean I have to keep it disabled – or was this just to find out whether the two are connected, and a future version of Waterfox might fix it?
… I did not manually change that value, …
At some point, did you perform a refresh of Waterfox?
What do you mean by refresh? What I did was:
So from the view of my profile, I never had a "clean one". So either this is a setting inherited from my previous FF profile (then why did it work from the start), or something else must have toggled it (and the only thing happening between it was working and it broke was the update to v56.2).
What do you mean by refresh?
There's a Refresh Waterfox … button at
Maybe a better-known route to the refresh routine:
– then the option to refresh appears alongside the option to use Waterfox in safe mode.
Thanks! As I never have started WF in safe mode, I have not even seen that button (and no idea what it does; from the context I guess it reverts configuration to initial values?)
… guess it reverts configuration to initial values?)
A refresh causes some, not all, preferences to be set to their defaults. (There's more to a refresh, but for the purposes of this issue: that's the essence).
In your case – with no refresh – I'm not sure how your preference for single-process was lost.
Assuming it was set before. Though setting it this way made the addon working again, couldn't it be some regression and the addon worked in 56.1 despite multi-process being enabled? Not saying it is, but it could be. To me looks more likely than the setting having switched for no obvious reasons (unless the update process to 56.2 included such a step).
Hm, looks like the Editor from the pre-WebExt Stylish extension is affected as well. I had adjusted it for WF 56 (found a patch somewhere), so maybe I need to try the "unmodified version" again in case you had fixed that on your end. Have you?
I'm a long-time user of Googlebar Light. It worked well in Waterfox up to 56.1. But after updating to v56.2 it is no longer working. It is shown as before, but no interaction is possible: cannot execute searches, cannot even open the configuration menu. Any idea on how to get that running again?
