Hulu Error Code 5005

Hulu will not stream on version 56.2.6

Hulu will load the main screen like normal, but once I click on a tv show or movie it starts to load then shows a screen with "Error Code: 5005"

I am able to stream the exact same shows on other browsers like chrome and edge on the same internet and pc, so it seems to be a browser issue.

I've seen something online regarding this specific issue when I used to use Hulu a while ago. I had copied some information and here's what I have.

"Hulu Live Error Code 5005 issues are caused by misconfigured system files. This usually happens when the computer's registry system overloads with to much data, or when certain system files become missing or broken."

I can't remember where I had gotten it from but, I hope that it's helpful somehow.

I don't know about code 5005, but re: https://redd.it/aex1ez and https://redd.it/af1m1j a known issue can affect streaming services that use DRM.

OK, I might take a look later with a platform that is supported by Widevine. I'm not a Hulu user, which might be a showstopper, so if someone else can get information from (maybe) the web console it'll help.

I've found the issue, it appears the DRM module isn't accepting the new key exchange happening, so working on updating it to try and get it to work. Also affects other HTML5 DRM websites.

Thank you so much for fixing this! This is the best web browser I have ever used, and it almost killed me having to open Microsoft Edge to watch hulu.

@laura1365, This doesn't do anything regarding the DRM of the Browser itself. It provides very little information regarding the error and even less about any resolutions (primarily to call for support).

Is this issue reproducible with Waterfox Classic 56.2.14 or Waterfox Current 68.0b1 (20190908151900)?
