escape unexpectedly kills application, without offering a chance to save #21

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Add an image.
2. Spend a long time adding vertices, bones, etc.
3. Accidentally hit escape.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the program to ask me if I want to save before closing.  Instead
the program just closes suddenly. 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
003, OS X 10.5.5
