Figure 2: exploratory data visualization #45

Closed Aariq closed 3 years ago

Aariq commented 3 years ago

Current figure 2 has 4 panels, the first three of which are demographic data, but all using different subsets. a) is size of all plants, b) is survivorship curve of plants tagged in 1998, and c) is proportion of largest plants flowering.

  1. take current panel b) and turn into a standalone plot
  2. replace panel b) with timeseries of proprtion of plants surviving
  3. re-define subset for panel c) as reproductive plants being plants larger than the smallest plant that ever flowered (unless this doesn't end up making sense)

For consistency, use the same colors in these figures as in current figure 3

For the new standalone figure, the caption should read "Survivorship of plants labeled in the first survey year, 1998, which comprise XX% of the plants in the full dataset. After 10 years, XX% of plants in continuous forest survived and XX% of plants in fragments survived."

add SD error bars to panel a

Include in new results?: "The greatest decrease in average plant size in one transition year occurred in the 2002-2003 transition year. A year later in the 2004 census, the proportion of plants surviving was lowest."
