Open BryanCastorius opened 4 months ago

No specified units are explained for the medication quantity, what happens if it's a pill (quantity is 50 pills)? a syrup (quantity of the bottle is 600 milliliters), sachet (quantity is 10 sachets)?

The user guide does not specify the quantity unit.

Team's Response

Thank you for the suggestion. It will be a useful feature that we will be considering down the road.

At of the current implementation, we choose not to implement the unit to be used for dosage/quantity, otherwise this will introduce additional research into all the different types of medications and checks into whether the intake dosage/quantity matches the unit specified in the total quantity, especially during modification of the medication data.

At this stage, we can reasonably expect the user to know if the quantity pertains to liquid or tablet medications.

This issue has been marked as a duplicate to #1337 as they are both addressing the use of units for medication quantity and dosage.

The 'Original' Bug

[The team marked this bug as a duplicate of the following bug]

Inability to specify units for quantity or dosage

The user guide states that users are unable to enter units for dosage or quantity. This is a big feature flaw as it could be very confusing for users. For example, if a user is new to the medicine and they are unfamiliar with it, not being able to see if the medication in a tablet or a syrup through the list would make it very confusing for the user to use the app. To make the app more user friendly, it would be critical to input the units to diffrentiate between different forms of medication such as tablets, syrup or perhaps puffs from an inhaler.
