i have played around with the curated nutritional data in Mathematica and am not getting the what i am looking for; it might help to step out of this particular proprietary system and try the 37 Nutrition APIs

USDA food composition data are in the public domain and they are not copyrighted. No permission is needed for their use. USDA would appreciate it if developers would list FoodData Central as the source of the data.
