4 years ago This is currently handled via the stupid sub shows link. We need to find a better way to present that.
I'd like the following options on the table. This is what I have been toying with in my head.
Keeping them on a separate linked page.
- Theme user can set the display text for this link in Aggregated podcast front matter. It will allow the user to make it appropriately descriptive such as "Sort by Book" or "Sort by TV Show". This should be mandatory.
- Theme user can specify an optional graphic to use for this ink. When they do this the text from #1 will be the alt/title/hover displayed text for the graphic.
- Pros: Allows for a better display of longer lists of sub shows. We could also use the extra screen real estate on this page to provide show details, host details and subscribe to the sub feeds from right in the list.
- Cons: Requires clicking through to a separate page.
A possible different route all together could be to list the sub shows directly on the page using the small images currently seen on a hosts "Hosts these shows" section.
- Pros: Eliminates click through to another page.
- Cons: This list could get unwieldy for long lists of sub shows. We also lose screen real estate to present subscribe buttons etc for the sub shows.
Currently aggregated podcast list pages show the aggregated podcast name and then lists episodes from all shows. That's great, but it needs a list of the included shows under the description of the aggregated podcasts at the top of the aggregated podcast list page.
