[Bug] Left Vertical Panel with Dual Monitors #502

Open BuLEEto opened 7 months ago

BuLEEto commented 7 months ago

Description

When having dual monitors side by side, if I have a budgie panel to the left side of the right monitor (as a left vertical panel) I can no longer move windows to my left monitor using the mouse or keyboard shortcuts to do this.

Budgie version

budgie-desktop 10.8.2 (bug also present in version 10.7.1)

Operating System

Debian 12 Bookworm

Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Setup dual monitors side by side.
  2. Put a vertical budgie panel on the left side of the right monitor
  3. Try and move an application window past the panel and onto the left monitor.

Actual result

Window gets stuck just past the panel, and wont go over to the left monitor.

Expected result

Window should move over to the other monitor.

Thanks for filing this issue. This is something that will be looked into for B11, it's been a long-standing pain-point in Budgie that isn't realistically going to be resolved in B10 (since we would rather port it to Wayland and then finally put it into maintenance mode). For example, it also applies for monitors that are stacked vertically.
