Workspace switcher applet is not switching workspace and activating applications when the icons are clicked. Otherwise, workspaces seem to be behaving normally.
For example, clicking the terminal icon or the gedit icon below has no effect:
Tried removing, then re-adding the applet, and refreshing the panel.

Steps to reproduce the issue
Open two applications on different workspaces
Try to switch between them by clicking on their icons in the Workspace Switcher
Actual result
On clicking the icon it visually indicates it has been clicked, but the workspace does not switch and active the target application
Expected result
Expect the workspace to switch to that of the clicked application, and for that application to be uppermost
Additional information
There is another bug (I believe it's Mutter) that prevents the application from gaining focus when switched to, so to return to previous behaviour, would mean when the workspace is changed, the app is uppermost, but would still require a single mouse click to focus it
