I prefer not to have any panels or docks anywhere on my screen, however sometimes I lack useful information such as current keyboard layout, or layout I'm switching to. So I have to type smth or hover mouse over hidden panel to show it and check my current layout
Proposal
I tried to find it myself how to make custom OSD in Solus but didn't succeed. I believe in other desktop environments it is implemented as OSD. If there's a way to implement it on my own (as some kind of extension), please let me know
Seems like a reasonable request to me. This would be in the OSD created by budgie-daemon, so the daemon would need to monitor for layout changes and create an OSD when the layout changes.
Budgie version
10.9.1
