Selecting an object and importing into Figma would be great for those quick and simple changes when you want to show something or a design change proposal.

This would be a massive time saver.

@MarioRicalde thanks for the feedback, I completely agree! I have an idea in mind on how to execute this and I hope to add it to this project soon!

steve8708 commented 4 years ago

Chrome extension has been created, just waiting on Google to approve it now 😃

steve8708 commented 4 years ago

Chrome extension published :) https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/efjcmgblfpkhbjpkpopkgeomfkokpaim

There isn't a UI to select a specific part of a document yet, so I'll keep this on the todo list for a future feature of it

Awesome. I've downloaded it and tested it. Seems to be working as expected. Getting a file.

There's a chance you might be able to open it directly into Figma? At least for MacOS... maybe.

steve8708 commented 4 years ago

Great! To open it in Figma you need have the latest version of the plugin, and open it, and click "upload here"

I've also published a new version of the Chrome extension with better instructions and a gif showing what to do that Chrome should download in the background soon

The Chrome Extension is very nice. If anything the one thing I'd like is the ability drop files straight into the plugin window and it catching it - though I'm not sure if that's even possible currently.

Any possibility to import just a single div by selecting it straight on the page? Similar to the built-in screenshot tool of Firefox.

MarioRicalde commented 4 years ago

That's basically what this feature request is about. 👍
