That will certainly depend on the game itself. I can tell you I am actually able to play UrbanTerror, AlienArena, SuperTuxKart, SpeedDreams/TORCS in full widescreen with no issues of any sort. Maybe you can tweak the xorg.conf.{nvidia,nouveau}
file(s) to have a Modeline forced to your desired resolution.
I add the following but have no result: Section "Screen" Identifier "Screen0" Device "Device0" Monitor "CMO:5114" DefaultDepth 24 SubSection "Display" Depth 24 Modes "1366x768" EndSubSection EndSection
Or I made something wrong?
P.S. I'm talking about gaming through wine
Never tried it with wine. Maybe a wine issue. Could you investigate that further?
Ok, but what should I do?It is hardly to say concretely, I usually have 2 games experience - its CS 1.6 (which as I know is absolutely playable under wine), and Starcraft 2, which a cant launch now(its self diagnostic tool always says that game is broken, starts to scan files, says everything is ok but nothing changes). But I played it many times on my old Acer Aspire 5930G when game was released. I tried to search should I blame wine here, but I found nothing. Maybe I've got some bugs related to wine on x64, but I think I correctly configured it with WINEARCH=win32 variable...
I recently tried UrbanTerror, and yes, everything was fine with optirun and full screen (except setting custom 1366x768 mode when game dropped). IMHO its not wine issue as it strongly looks like misdetection of screen parameters by nvidia.
We released the new 3.0 version of Bumblebee, informations available here : http://linux-hybrid-graphics.blogspot.com/2012/01/bumblebee-version-30-tumbleweed-release.html.
Since they have been a lot of changes, most issues are outdated, so please try the new version and report issues on the new tracker.
When I start games with optirun it runs with 4:3 aspect ratio, but I have 16:9 1366x768 screen. Also in-game interface controllers that controls switching to widescreen mode are disabled...
