Tested this. Hibernate works for me. When I disable swap with
sudo swapoff -a
Hibernate returns an error screen.
Perhaps the error messages can be made more user friendly. I used text I found on the net for the 'CanHibernate' method.
With the code that is in place now, it is easy to switch to showing the hibernate button only when the CanHibernate method returns "yes".
