Check out ScreenScrape. It is something we could set up with a Rasberry Pi or just an EZCast. This service has a $0 setup fee with $40/month with a 3 year contract. You can go month to mont with a $200 setup cost.

For comparison, an EZCast is available from Amazon for $22. A 3 year contract at $40/mo adds up to $1,440. I am sure Dell has a comparable cost to the EZCast so that is quite the margin.

I believe the EZCast can be programmed. There are many videos on YouTube showing what it can do. All we would need to do is point it to a web page which is configured for that display.

I think what we'd do is set up screen profiles with a website to customize the display for each screen. When a user installs one of these devices and logs into their account they can configure their profiles and select a profile for that screen. We could pre-configure the device for each client so they only need to select the profile they want to use. We could display bus times, weather, their tweets as well as menu items and specials like we've discussed before.

Here is the forum for EZCast.

I am digging now to see what the programmable options are.
