It would be nice to have query templates for frequently used SQL queries 
predefined in the configuration (per database perhaps).

You can save the queries as views, i think is enough

Well, if you often need the exact select-query then you can use a view. But it 
does not work for delete, update or insert and it does not work if for example 
some where-expressions differ from time to time.
