WOW Amazing IG... #38

Sorry I know this might not be the place to post, but I don't have an email from you.

I've never done anything to IG and then I read he's planning to come back to do some work again on SpaceFM, so I make a post to say thanks, and how great it is, and how great SpaceFM is.

https://github.com/IgnorantGuru/spacefm/issues/473#event-244947624

Listen, I've been a FLIPPIN Linux Geek 15 years and in that time, on some special times like this, yes I've posted off topic shit, saying Hi, glad your back, glad everything is ok, can I help you, blah blah, on heaps of GitHub accounts and developers were damm happy people showed appreciation, but no not IG.

I don't know what the hell this guys problem is, but I'm tired of his shit towards me!

And never in 15 years did anyone bitch or complain, BUT NO, I don't know what this IG's problem is.

I post something nice and he just deletes it, doesn't even say thanks or anything.

There is nothing wrong with someone posting something like this here on GitHub, just to show a bit of appreciation and thanks...

Oh gee and forgive me for making what, a whole 3 posts the same thing in my entire time posting bug reports on SpaceFM, like that really merits a developer being an ass towards an end-user.

All I can say is IG really doesn't know how to treat people.

And this isn't the place for such a post either.

It doesn't matter how long you've been a Linux Geek. That doesn't entitle you to any greater privileges or lesser expectations. The bug tracker is for bugs and occasionally questions, and as such I'm closing and locking this issue as well. If that action is not clear enough by itself, it means explicitly that this is a cue that I don't appreciate this use of the bug tracker and would like you to refrain from using it that way.

I'm not here to listen to you to complain about IgnorantGuru. I thought I made that clear here: https://github.com/BwackNinja/spacefm/issues/32#issuecomment-65346348. This place is not for personal discussions. What's right and wrong depends on who you're interacting with. This is why I mentioned etiquette, and it's clear that you don't get that based on your response that "etiquette isn't the issue". It is his bug tracker. He makes the rules. You don't. If he expresses that certain behavior isn't acceptable, then it isn't. He, much like everyone else, will only be more dismissive of anything you do on his bug tracker the more that you refuse to follow the cues of what's appropriate. I, however, am taking the time to explicitly tell you rather than relying on you figuring things out.

3 separate reports for the same issue (if not counting the ones on my own tracker) is a lot by anyone's standards. To even talk about them as being related within your own comments on those reports and keep talking about each of them in every other report means that you aren't using the bug tracker properly and it is only a headache for whoever is managing the bugs with that happening.

The problem doesn't lie with IgnorantGuru. It is you who doesn't know how to properly interact with people.
