Safari 4.0.5 (Mac) incorrectly fallsback to flash using <audio> tag and mp3 #10

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. http://static.etianen.com/html5media/
2. Notice that while <video> uses HTML5 player correctly, <audio> does not.
3. Lament.

Can this be corrected? What's the issue here? Awkward to have HTML5 video
work in a modern browser, but fail in audio.

My best guess here (I haven't looked at the source), is that the browser
detection is broken in some way here (works in Chrome, Firefox, but not in
Safari).

This issue has now been fixed. It was to do with an incorrect mime type being
used for mp3 audio.

If you were embedding your mp3 file without an ogg vorbis fallback, it will
just work. If you were providing a fallback, then the type attribute of the
source tag should be changed to "audio/mpeg;".

These changes won't appear in the Google Code trunk, however, as the project is
in the process of being moved to GitHub. Please go to the new project site at
http://github.com/etianen/html5media and follow the instructions regarding
getting a copy of the new code.
