ByteBeast is a mobile onchain game built with Dojo and Unity
It’s an adventure game where you can capture, train and battle with creatures called ByteBeasts
The experience of the game is designed in two parts
First, an adventure with a involving history where you can easily spend 6 hours of gameplay
And second, the PvP component, once you have enough level, get ready to get competitive and challenge other players
The ByteBeasts and pretty much all items in the world are NFTs, so they have all the characteristics of a collection
The diference is that we are creating a whole world where you can play with your ByteBeasts NFTs
Slide 3 - Where the inspiration comes from
In the team we are huge fans of the old Pokemon games and our fantasy is to have true ownership on our creatures Now let’s imagina that, having a real economy and secondary markets where all I farm in the game is sellable and tradable
Game Boy Advance Final Fantasy is another classic we love, we took a lot of inspiration from Its great story and battle system
As this is a pixel art game, it’s a perfect fit for a portable and quick game to play It’s well known the mobile market is huge and we should be where the players are
Slide 4 - Why It should be onchain
So, for us It’s simple as Ownership
The other day I was looking for a game to start and burn 100 hours (basically I am planning to live there) so my criteria was
If I spend 100 hours in my characters, will others see my legendary armor? If I want to leave the game, can I sell my 100 hours of gameplay? Those 100 hours are represented in my beasts, my items, my armor and other rewards I got spending my time in the game
Ownership enables the secondary market for all these items, just like the real world, where you can sell something you don’t use At the end, I have the option of not loose my precious 100 hours and get some money back
Slide 5 - Previous state of the game
On July 2024 our team was invited to participate in the Starknet Hacker House in Brussels
Our goal was to have a first mock up of a Unity game and connect It Dojo, at the end of the Hacker House we were able to connect the spawn system and the movement system to Dojo We were sending transactions to dojo from our mobile unity game
The map was not the best, there was no interactivity and the battle still had some bugs to resolve
Slide 6
August 2024, the New York residence program started with Rolo flying to participate in person and the rest of the team online from Costa Rica We were learning from the best of the best, Loot Hero, Tale Weaver team, Click Save, Gabe, Loaf, Terrance and the list of game developers continues
We were able to Add interactivity to the NPCs Re create 3 maps, the forest, the woods and the village, the bugs for the battle are fixed and now It’s more a experience than a mock up Revamped our backend (Dojo) using latest v1.0.0-alpha.5, and created the new logic to handle multiplayer, the bag, the items, the beasts and the battle, all contracts have proper testing
We created our new website where all the specifics of the game are expalinned
And Lastly, we listed our project as an open source project in OnlyDust OnlyDust It’s a platform where you can connect with high skilled open source contributors We started a week ago and we already have 2 PRs merged by external contributors

Here is a gameplay trailer of ByteBeasts
Slide 8
We are focused on finishing the game and make It real fun and competitive, monetization will come after we have that
However we have pretty clear some ideas for the business model
Mystery Packs: with special beasts, armor, skins, basically new content that we can sell
Exclusive Dungeons: a temporary dungeon pass to keep retention and offer exclusive rewards to the players
As there will be a secondary market for all items and beasts, we can charge a little fee as royalty
Lastly, we noticed, the Pokemon center is the infinite value machine, you fight with your creatures and farm valuable resources, then come back to the Pokemon center, recovers your Pokemons, then you go and farm more, in our game the Pokemon center can charge a fee
