Keep the main thing the main thing. The story.

should look like a clean and familiar text editor, with a cursor highlighting where the current author needs to add.

defer next author selection until after they’re settled with their text entries.

Start with a continuous scroll. Probably stays as the edit mode, but maybe in the future there are more efficient reader modes.

Auto-save their text entries in local storage so they aren’t lost on refresh, if they cancel out of next author selection or if the transaction or any other system component fails.
