Replaced the introductory example in the documentation to one based on the Gaussian fitting demo, plus various minor improvements in the docs.
Renamed the gp_tools and pdf_tools modules to gp and pdf respectively. Importing using the old module names still works to avoid a breaking change (until a major version change) but now gives a warning.
