I found myself hitting this "Create or import project" button by accident often, and launching a new tab would keep things neater, ultimately. It would be helpful when wanting to name and save multiple versions. It would also help further distinguishing the "open recent" path from the "create note" path. Those are still muddled, I find. (See note on "open recent")
